October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer affects many of our loved ones including two-year breast cancer survivor Shelley DeYoung, who is the customer service representative at Illiana Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. in St. John.
Breast cancer is a disease that can be diagnosed early through routine mammography. The Women’s Diagnostic Center of Community Hospital offers digital mammography with same day results. With advances such as same-day results and coordination between area physicians, women can generally begin treatment for breast cancer within 10 days of diagnosis - saving lives.
In honor of Shelley DeYoung, Illiana Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. is establishing an account to help other local women - who otherwise couldn’t afford them - receive diagnostic mammograms at the Women’s Diagnostic Center in Munster. During October, Illiana Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. will donate $5. for each service call and $50. for each installation to the “Shelley DeYoung Breast Cancer Survivor” fund. You can help by calling for a furnace tune up or service call, or arranging for a new installation of a high efficient comfort system during October. Call 219-365-0006 for an appointment.
If you would like to donate another way, please send contributions payable to “Community Hospital” and mailed to 901 MacArthur Boulevard, Munster, IN 46321, Attention: Michelle Steffen and specify “Shelley DeYoung Breast Cancer Survivor” in the memo line.
